The latest Nottingham Forest team news, injury update and predicted XI ahead of the Reds' clash with Tottenham Hotspur

Nottingham Forest are back in Premier League action on Monday at home to Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds are looking to return to winning ways following their 1-0 defeat to Everton at The City Ground last time out. They weren’t able to break down the Toffees in their last outing and slumped to a defeat.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have had an impressive season to date and won’t want to run out of steam at this crucial pooint. They are positioned in 4th place in the table behind Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United in the table. Champions League football remains their target with six fixtures left to play.

Nottingham Forest team news ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash

Nottingham Forest will make late checks on defender Ola Aina and striker Taiwo Awoniyi. Aina has been ruled out recently with a thigh injury whilst Awoniyi has been out of action for their last two games with a hamstring problem. Nuno has said: "We have to assess. They were not with the group and are still carrying some problems. We have to assess them. It is going to be day by day.”

Striker Chris Wood returned against Everton but the Reds will manage his minutes. His boss has shared this update: “Of course we have to manage Chris. He has been out for a while. He was unable to play in the previous games because of his injury. The effort was good, but not as good as we want. Now we are positive that on Monday Chris is going to be better. Having the full week is good because we have been facing a tight schedule with a lot of big effort from the players. Many of them are struggling with some situations.”

Nottingham Forest predicted line-up vs Tottenham Hotspur

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels has been their number one in this campaign. He has made 32 league appearances so far. The former Newcastle man is backed up on the bench by Carlos Miguel at the moment.

The backline of Neco Williams, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Alex Moreno is likely to stay the same against Spur with Aina still a doubt. Murillo is one of the club’s most prized assets but he will want to put his mistake that led to Everton’s winner behind him. The 22-year-old moved to England in 2023 from Corinthians and has adapted well to life with his current club.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Ryan Yates come back into the starting XI for their upcoming game to shore things up instead of Nicolas Dominguez. They could do with freshening things up in the heart of midfield alongside Elliot Anderson. Yates is a dependable player and adds more energy into the middle of the park.

Morgan Gibbs-White then operates in front of the midfield two in an attacking role in behind the striker. The ex-Wolves man has played 31 matches this term and has chipped in with five goals. He joined the Reds back in 2022 following their promotion from the Championship and he hasn’t looked back since.

Jota Silva started against Everton but Nottingham Forest may bring in Anthony Elanga for his pace. Nuno’s team are blistering on the counter attack and could do with his power. Callum Hudson-Odoi offers a similar outlet on the other flank.

Up top, Wood is their top scorer will look to add to his tally. The New Zealand international has had his injury woes recently but should be fine. He has scored 18 league goals so far.

Nottingham Forest predicted XI to face Tottenham Hotspur: Sels; Williams, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Anderson, Yates; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
