New Aston Villa kits for 2026/27 season ‘leaked’ as fans describe new designs as a ‘shame’

The new Aston Villa kits for the 2026/27 season appear to have been leaked online ahead of their release date.

The brand new Aston Villa home, away and third kits for the forthcoming 2026/27 season appear to have been revealed online well ahead of their official release after a major leak of Adidas designs for the coming year.

Images and descriptions of several new kits by the German manufacturer have appeared online, with along with a number of Premier League shirts which have turned up including new Manchester United, Newcastle and Arsenal jerseys – and while the leak has not yet been verified, we may now also have a clear idea of how Villa will look when they take to the field next season.

What Aston Villa’s home kit for the 2026/27 looks like – according to leaks

While the apparent leak cannot be confirmed as yet, several online media outlets have corroborated the details of Aston Villa’s forthcoming shirts, with Footy Headlines producing artistic renders of all three – which can be seen in the social media post above - which give us a clear idea of what the finished products will look like.

Adidas’ new take on the home jersey includes one significant departure from tradition, in that the sleeves will be a plain claret colour to match the body with no blue save for trim across the hem, collar and the manufacturer’s trademark triple-stripe design across the shoulders.

This will mark just the third time since the turn of the century that Villa haven’t had blue sleeves on their home shirt, after the 2001/02 and 2018/19 shirts, and the first time that Adidas have gone down that route since taking over the manufacturer’s license ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The decision doesn’t seem likely to be popular with the fans, based on the initial reaction on social media – positive comments were few and far between, with one supporter describing it as a “shame” that the sleeves had been done away with, while another simply said that the new home jersey “does nothing for me at all.”

Away and third kits may be more popular with Aston Villa supporters

The change strips will hopefully prove a little more popular with supporters, although there are fewer clear-cut details about the final designs and Footy Headlines acknowledge that their renders for the change strips are merely “75% accurate” based on available information.

The away shirt seems set to feel rather Belgian in flavour – Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans certainly should be fond of it – with a black body and yellow, claret and blue trim on the sleeves and collar with yellow shoulder stripes and the Adidas trefoil logo and alternate Aston Villa club crest picked out in the same colour.

The third kit, meanwhile, is predominantly white with claret trim, collar and shoulder stripes, and seems set to feature centred logos and a swirl pattern stitched into the pattern across the chest which is apparently inspired by the gates outside Villa Park.

There are no indications as to when the new kits will be launched officially, with the unveiling and release not expected to take place until the summer, and we’re also waiting for details of the shorts and socks that will be paired with the new jerseys.
