The bold transfer hijack Bournemouth should make over Crystal Palace to land £28m defender perfect for PL
Crystal Palace are hoping to land a top Serie A target this summer
It has been a challenging summer thus far for Crystal Palace, and the South London side will hope to make the best of the weeks which remain to prepare their squad for the new Premier League season.

Palace have been known to make a slow start to the season in recent years and they could be subject to a similar fate if work is not done in the transfer market in August. Marc Guehi and Eberechi Eze continue to be strongly linked with moves to title challengers Liverpool and Arsenal respectively, so the Eagles must act now to seek replacements to avoid being forced to react when it is already too late.
According to Gazetta in Italy, Palace have been linked with a £28 million move for Inter Milan centre-back Yann Bisseck, a full Germany international who could be perfect for the Premier League. But there could yet be time for a hijack from a Premier League rival.
Why Bournemouth should hijack Crystal Palace move for Yann Bisseck
Arguably one of the only clubs in the Premier League in greater need of central defensive options than Palace are Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth. With just two weeks until the new season, the time is now if they are to rectify this.
The Cherries have also faced struggles this summer and while they have largely kept their exciting attacking unit together, they have seen key departures in defence. Dean Huijsen left for Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez for Liverpool, while Ilya Zabarnyi has been heavily linked with PSG and is expected to leave if Bournemouth’s £60m valuation is met. While none of the trio can be blamed for making life-changing moves to three of the biggest clubs in the world, there is no doubt that the Cherries need to find replacements or it may come back to bite them next season.
Left-back Adrien Truffert has been signed from Rennes to solve one major issue, but a glaring problem at centre-half remains. Bournemouth should take the opportunity to hijack Crystal Palace’s move for Bisseck, who could become the most important signing of the Cherries’ summer.
Bisseck move is a no-brainer for Bournemouth
If the Cherries lose both members of their outstanding central defensive partnership with £110m in their back pocket, a move for 24-year-old Bisseck could prove a steal. Standing at 6 ft 5 inches tall and blessed with pace and strength, Bisseck is a ball-playing centre-back who loves to drive forward out of defence in a similar mould to Huijsen. As such, he could prove the perfect replacement for the Spaniard.
Bournemouth may need to outbid Palace and pay a little over £30m in order to secure a deal for the German. This should not prove a problem, while the club will hope to convince the player of the move by showing how quickly Huijsen progressed in just a year at the club. Bisseck could be persuaded to see Vitality Stadium as the perfect place to take the next step in his career. It remains to be seen whether Bournemouth will take the opportunity to hijack Bisseck’s move to the Premier League, or else he could become a Crystal Palace player before they know it.
