Felix, Neto & Sancho: Rating every Chelsea summer signing
Chelsea splashed the cash again this summer and to be fair- some of them have hit the ground.
Chelsea have invested heavily over the past few transfers windows and essentially have two squads with one that plays in the Premier League and another that competes in the League Cup and Europa Conference League. So far, everything is going as planned, with the team sitting fourth in the league table and looking bright in the cup competitions.
After seven games and an international break—and having watched every match so far—here’s how we think every summer signing has performed:
Tosin Adarabioyo - 6
Tosin has barely put a foot wrong, but he would want to at least force his way into the first team instead of being a cup player. He has emerged as one of the leaders of the team despite arriving in the summer, looking solid and robust when he’s played.
Omari Kellyman - N/A
Kellyman is an 18-year-old attacking midfielder who signed from Aston Villa on a six-year deal. He hasn’t played for the club yet due to injury.
Marc Guiu - 5
He’s played 168 minutes of football for Chelsea so far. He’s still waiting for his first goal and is currently third choice behind Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - 5
Dewsbury-Hall will link up with his former Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca, after agreeing to a five-year contract at Chelsea. He’s yet to start a league game and looks a long way from breaking into a midfield that features Enzo, Caicedo, and Cole Palmer.
Renato Veiga - 7
Veiga is a versatile Portuguese youth international who signed from Basel in Switzerland. He’s been brilliant, defending well and playing in three different positions already. Given that he was cheaper than what Arsenal paid for Calafiori, he is proving to be a really determined player.
Filip Jorgensen - 5
Goalkeeper Jorgensen joined from Villarreal, signing a seven-year contract. There was an impression that he would be the number one, but at the moment, Robert Sanchez holds that position.
Pedro Neto - 5
Exciting attacker Pedro Neto swapped Wolves for Chelsea earlier this month. He scored a goal but hasn't managed to displace Noni Madueke from the starting eleven. You get the feeling that there is more to come from him.
João Félix - 6
João Félix returned to Chelsea from Atlético Madrid on a permanent deal after enjoying a loan spell at Stamford Bridge during the 2022/23 campaign. He had a superb second debut, scoring against Wolves and a free kick against Barrow. However, there’s a feeling that he can still do better.
Jadon Sancho - 8
Sancho has had a brilliant start to life as a Chelsea player, with three assists in his first four games. He always seems to be enjoying his game.
