New Coventry City home kit for 2026/27 leaked online – as fans lambast ‘massively wrong’ design
Online images appear to have revealed details of Coventry City’s brand new home kit ahead of its official release.
The brand new home kit for Premier League newcomers Coventry City appears to have been leaked online ahead of its official release – but the club’s supporters don’t seem to be unduly impressed by the surprising direction that manufacturers Hummel have taken with the design.

Footy Headlines have published details of the alleged leaks, with include a still image purported to have come from a promotional photoshoot. 3 Added Minutes has not yet been able to independently verify the image or the details of the new shirt which will be in use for the 2026/27 season.
What Coventry’s new home kit for the 2026/27 season looks like – according to leaks
According to the apparent leaks and the image from the promo shoot, which appears in the social media post above, Coventry City are set to look very different next season – ditching their traditional sky blue kit for darker blue stripes.
Hummel’s new kit is likely an homage to the striped shirt that the club wore when they won the FA Cup back in 1987, marking the 40th anniversary of Coventry’s greatest victory – and going back to a striped design for just the second time in a decade.
Based on the leaked image, the blue used for the new home kit will be paler than the shade used back in the 1986/87 season and will feature inlaid patterning which wasn’t present on the original jersey, while the black circular collar is also a departure from the shirt worn during that famous cup run.
There is no sign of Hummel’s trademark chevrons which run down the sleeves of many of their designs, while the club’s front of shirt sponsor seems set to be picked out in a bold orange colour, which isn’t too far away from the colouring used to advertise 1980s sponsors Granada Social Clubs.
No release date has yet been made public and it may not be possible to verify the supposed leaks until the launch. No details for the 2026/27 away or third kits have yet been revealed.
Fans react to ‘massively wrong’ new Coventry shirt

While retro throwback jerseys often go over well with supporters, the initial reaction to the apparent new Coventry City home kit has drawn a less than enthusiastic response so far.
The fan page PSB Group, whose photo forms the source of the leak, described Hummel’s design as “massively wrong” while others commenting on social media called the shirt “horrendous.”
It’s also been pointed out by many fans that moving away from not only from the traditional sky blue hue but also from the darker shade used in the Eighties has resulted in a kit which looks less like a Coventry shirt than something that might be worn by Huddersfield Town or Sheffield Wednesday.
Certainly if the image and leak prove to be genuine, then there are likely to be quite a few disappointed supporters who stick with a replica of the kit which Coventry wore during last season’s successful promotion campaign.
