Everton sign Leeds United gem and £45m star in monster predicted January window
AI predicts how Everton could bolster their squad in the January window
Everton have had a mixed start to the 2025/26 season, picking up seven points from a possible 15 so far. The Toffees are tenth after five matches, have two wins in five games, and are so far yet to taste defeat in their new stadium.

They have slowly improved in all of the last three seasons and are seen by many experts as outsiders to mount a European push after a fairly productive transfer window which has seen the new owners attract the likes of Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling to the club among others.
The Blues are hoping that they can be a club on the up this season and are hoping that their signings under David Moyes can be more successful than in years gone by, but in order to achieve qualification for Europe for the first time since 2017, it’s likely they’ll still need further reinforcements in the winter window. With that in mind, we asked AI to predict who Everton might target this January - and this was its intriguing response.
David Moyes adds £45m star to his Everton squad in predicted window
Everton replaced Dominic Calvert-Lewin with French Under-21 international Thierno Barry over the summer but they are yet to see the best of the promising forward. As it stands, Beto is the leading striker for the Blues, but AI believes Moyes could look to bolster his options with a move for Arsenal ace Gabriel Jesus.
The former Manchester City man is currently recovering from a serious ACL injury, but should be fit enough to play by the start of 2026. The striker, who cost the Gunners £45m, struggled for regular game time behind Kai Havertz at Arsenal last term and is likely to fall further down the pecking order now that Victor Gyokeres is at the club.
AI also expects Everton to add further quality in the wide areas despite signing both Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City and Tyler Dibling from Southampton. The Blues have long been linked with a move for Willy Gnonto and could potentially look to finally bring the Italian international to Merseyside in the winter.
Who could leave Everton in January?
Scottish defender Nathan Patterson is yet to feature in the league this season across all competitions and has struggled to get regular football since arriving from Rangers. He played just 10 times in the top-flight last term and is potentially someone that David Moyes could look to cash in on due to his potential, aged 23.
Everton have a fairly small squad at present, meaning not many players are likely to leave the club in the winter unless replacements are brought in. However, veteran centre back Michael Keane, Ukraine international Vitaliy Mykolenko, centre-back James Tarkowski, central midfielder James Garner and young goalkeeper Harry Tryer are all in the final year of their contract - meaning they could be at risk of departing in the near future if contract extensions aren’t agreed.
The Toffees made just one signing last January, signing former Southampton wonderkid Carlos Alcaraz on a six month loan from Flamengo in deal which has since been turned permanent.
