‘Horrible’ new Everton 2025/26 home kit 'leaked' as fans don't hold back with brutal verdict
Everton’s home shirt for the 2025/26 Premier League season appears to have leaked online.
Everton’s new home shirt for the forthcoming 2025/26 season appears to have been ‘leaked’ online ahead of its official release by a kit collector.
Footy Headlines have picked up images of the apparent new jersey after a fan who collects Everton shirts posted pictures online – and the new Castore design has drawn a largely negative initial reaction from the fans.
It’s the first Everton kit to have been unofficially revealed ahead of release, and it remains unclear whether the leak is authentic, but it looks as though the Toffees will be sticking with a traditional design ahead of their first season at the new Bramley Moore Dock Stadium.
New Everton home kit for 2025/26 season revealed in leak
The social media post above shows the apparent new home shirt to be worn by David Moyes’ men in the Premier League next season, with a series of zig-zagging lines woven into the traditional blue fabric. As well as a white club badge and manufacturer’s logo, the kit also features a white V-neck collar, redolent of Castore’s kits for the club from the late Eighties. There is no other patterning on the shirt, with no white or other colours on the sleeves or sides.
This will be the last year in which Everton are to be sponsored by online gambling firm Stake, with the ban on front-of-shirt betting companies coming into force after the 2025/26 season is completed. Aside from the zigzag pattern across the shirt, it’s a pretty simple and traditionalist shirt – although we still don’t have details of the away and third kits which are to be worn at the new ground next from August.
‘Horrible’ new kit draws negative reviews
The initial reaction from Everton fans to the new home kit on social media have been predominantly negative so far. Verdicts from fans responding to the leaked images on X have included “horrible and lazy”, “awful” and “aggressively mid.”
While a few fans had some kinder words, the significant majority are plainly less than enamoured with a kit also described as looking “like a seventies tank top”. The fan who originally leaked the images suggested that the kit could have been “elevated massively with matching [white] sleeve cuffs”.
Whether that negative early reaction hits sales or not remains to be seen. An official release date isn’t yet known but it looks likely to take place after the current campaign, with no indication that the club plan to wear their new shirt before the end of the 2024/25 season, as clubs sometimes do for marketing purposes.
While we may now have some information about how Everton will look as they work to consolidate their position under David Moyes and their new owners, it still remains to be seen what the squad looks like – Moyes has been promised investment in a shallow squad, while the rumour mill has connected them with a number of players, including multiple returning heroes from previous campaigns.
