Forget Ange Postecoglou - 'Absolute master' is perfect next Leeds United manager if Daniel Farke sacked
Leeds United have found the step up from the Championship to the Premier League tough so far this season
Leeds United stormed to the Championship title last season and went up along with Burnley and Sunderland. It has been big step up for the West Yorkshire outfit to the Premier League though so far in this campaign. They find themselves in the bottom three after their first 12 fixtures.

The Whites were beaten 2-1 at home by Aston Villa last time out and are inside the relegation zone on goal difference behind West Ham. Pressure will start to grow on Daniel Farke if their form doesn’t turn around soon. They are back in action this weekend with an away trip to the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City.
Leeds United should eye Carlos Corberan as potential Daniel Farke replacement
According to talkSPORT, Leeds could eye Ange Postecoglou or Brendan Rodgers if they sack Farke. The pair are available following recent exits from Nottingham Forest and Celtic respectively. However, they should steer clear of both managers and turn to a familiar face instead.
Carlos Corberan has worked at Elland Road before under the popular Marcelo Bielsa and should be on their radar again now. The 42-year-old, who is currently the head coach of Valencia, would be ideal if Farke departed. He knows the club already and is proven at sorting out defences.
Pundit Don Goodman has previously delivered his verdict on the manager and said, as per Football League World: “He is an absolute master at getting teams organised, hard working and hard to play against. And he’s proven that, he proved it at Huddersfield and he proved that at West Bromwich Albion.”
Corberan, who is from Spain, left West Brom for Valencia just over 12 months ago. The La Liga side were struggling near the bottom of the table, just Leeds are now, and he managed to keep them up. He has won 39% of matches since his switch to the Mestella Stadium.
Why Carlos Corberan would suit Leeds United
Leeds need someone who will get their backline organised. They have conceded too many goals of late and have to tighten things up if they are to avoid an immediate return to the second tier. Corberan knows the club already and prides himself on an organised defensive structure.
He landed the Huddersfield Town job in 2020 off the back of his coaching spell with the Whites. He guided the Terriers to the play-off final during his time in West Yorkshire against the odds under a tight budget. They controversially lost in the play-off final to Nottingham Forest at Wembley.
Olympiacos then lured him to Greece before he returned to England with West Brom in 2022. He did a steady job with the Baggies during his two years at The Hawthorns. They were 23rd in the division when he went in and he won 10 of his first 12 matches at the helm.
The Baggies were disappointed to see him leave but the Valencia position was too good to turn down. Leeds have been linked with him in the past and should keep him in mind now if Farke is given the chop. They have some tricky fixtures coming up and the German is on thin ice as the difficult winter schedule looms large.
