Liverpool’s new 2026/27 third kit 'leaked’ online as fans slam ‘awful’ and 'disappointing' design
Details of Liverpool’s new third kit for next season have leaked online ahead of its official release.
The brand new Liverpool third kit for the forthcoming 2026/27 season appears to have been leaked online ahead of its official release date – but supporters appear to be unhappy with Adidas’ new design.

Footy Headlines are among online outlets to have reported on the apparent leaks, which stem from multiple sources but cannot yet be confirmed by 3 Added Minutes. The leaks come hot on the heels of the release of the new retro-inspired home shirt, which is now available to purchase.
What Liverpool’s new third kit for 2026/27 looks like - according to leaks
The apparent new third kit, which can be seen in the images above (which appear to be mock-ups rather than leaked images from a genuine marketing campaign, although that is not entirely clear), features an abstract black and crimson design which is apparently intended to mimic waving flags on the Kop.
The standard Adidas logo, club crest and front-of-shirt and sleeve sponsors will be picked out in a pale silver, with the three stripes across the shoulders which feature on all Adidas kits are in the same colour. A black circular collar is the only other trim on the new jersey.
The new shirt represents a departure from traditional Liverpool kit designs, although it does resemble the colour palette used on some pre-match shirts worn by the club in recent seasons.
A release date for the new shirt has not yet been revealed, but will likely take place later this summer once enough time has elapsed following the launch of the new home shirt – which has proven rather more popular with the club’s fans.
Supporters react to ‘disappointing’ new third kit
The initial reaction from Liverpool supporters on social media has been less than enthusiastic, with a considerable amount of criticism aimed at Adidas’ new third kit.
Comments on the initial leaks include suggestions that the shirt is “disappointing,” “awful,” and that it represented “the weakest effort from Adidas for Liverpool.” There were a few dissenting voices who praised the new look, but the first impression doesn’t seem to have been especially positive.
Fans seem to be considerably happier with the new home shirt, which draws inspiration from the Candy-sponsored kits worn in the 1989/90 and 1990/91 seasons, while similar leaks which claim to reveal details of the away jersey – which is expected to be a clean white number similar to the change strip from the same era – have also gone over rather well. The appreciation for the throwback designs doesn’t seem to extend to Adidas’ more novel third shirt, however.
The similarity in colouring to Liverpool’s red home kit suggests that the third kit won’t be worn too often, at least, and it seems likely only to be used infrequently as a result – something which may prove to be a relief for the fans based on early responses to the leaks.
The away and third kits will come out later this summer, ready to be worn by what may well be a much-changed Liverpool squad as the club works to find replacements for departing players such as Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson over the summer.
