Salah, Alisson and Mamardashvili: Liverpool injury news and return dates ahead of Man United clash
The latest Liverpool injury update as they prepare to face Manchester United
Liverpool surged to their third Premier League win in a row last weekend, as they rose to the occasion and defeated Crystal Palace at Anfield. It was by no means a walkover, with the visitors managing more shots and indeed shots on target than the hosts, but crucial goals from Alexander Isak, Andy Robertson and Florian Wirtz were enough to ensure a 3-1 win.

As things stand, the Reds are well on track to bag Champions League qualification for next season. It’s a tightly-packed table, and the potential permutations are enough to give even the most seasoned statistician a nosebleed, but with fifth place and higher guaranteed a place in Europe’s elite cup competition next season, it’s looking good for Liverpool.
Up next, it’s a clash against arch rivals Manchester United, who also look likely to play Champions League football next season after turning things around under interim manager Michael Carrick. Ahead of the Northwest derby this weekend, we’ve rounded up the latest injury news concerning Arne Slot’s side:
Liverpool injury news latest - goalkeepers and defence
Giorgi Mamardashvili (knee): The Georgia international’s knee injury suffered against Everton has proved worse than first feared, with initial hopes of a speedy comeback fading quickly. Slot revealed before the Palace game that he could be out for “weeks”, but didn’t go as far as to rule him out for the rest of the season. Estimated return date: 17th May vs Aston Villa.
Alisson (hamstring): It’s better news when it comes to Liverpool’s number one. Slot revealed that the Brazilian gem just missed out against Palace, which he suggests he should be ready to go against United this weekend. He’s not featured in the last seven games for the Reds, and has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer. Estimated return date: 3rd May vs Liverpool.
Conor Bradley (knee): The Northern Ireland international has been out with a knee injury since January, and won’t play any further part in the Reds’ season. He’s stepping up his recovery and with the whole summer to work on his fitness, he will be looking to hit the ground running in the build-up to the 2026/27 campaign. Estimated return date: pre-season.
Giovanni Leoni (knee): Like Bradley, things haven’t gone to plan for Leoni this season, who has been out since last September with an ACL injury. He won’t return to team training before the end of the current campaign but, like Bradley, he’ll be looking to get back into the swing of things come pre-season. Estimated return date: pre-season.
Liverpool injury news latest - midfield and attack
Wataru Endo (ankle): Slot provided a positive update on the Japan international before Liverpool’s clash with Palace, revealing that the midfielder could be back before the end of the current campaign. Despite being out since February with a serious ankle injury, he’s still hopeful of playing in the World Cup this summer, and should feature for the Reds next month. Estimated return date: 17th May vs Aston Villa.
Mohamed Salah (hamstring): Could the Egyptian legend have kicked his last ball for Liverpool? It’s looking like it could be that way, with reports suggesting he tore his hamstring against Palace and won’t play again this season. It’s claimed that he needs four weeks of treatment - a recovery time that would elapse the end of the Premier League campaign. Estimated return date: N/A.
Hugo Ekitike (Achilles): A brutal blow saw the versatile forward forced to undergo surgery earlier this month. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and will push hard to return in the early stages of 2027, if not late 2026. In his debut season at Liverpool, the Frenchman scored an impressive 17 goals across all competitions.
