Man City showing 'interest' in 11-goal ace as Liverpool and Arsenal plot summer transfers
The latest Premier League news featuring news from Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal
The January transfer window shut earlier this month but that hasn’t stopped rumours were swirling. Premier League teams have the chance to bolster their ranks again in the summer.

Manchester City are showing ‘interest’ in Atalanta attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere, according to TBR Football. Pep Guardiola’s side are being linked with a swoop for the Serie A ace at the end of this season.
De Ketelaere, 23, has been a key player for his current club over recent times and they could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line. He joined them on an initial loan deal that was later made permanent.
The Belgium international, who has had spells in the past at Club Brugge and AC Milan, has since scored 25 goals in 86 games in all competitions, 11 of which have come this season.
The 3am Verdict: De Ketelaere has started to hit the ground running at Atalanta over the past couple of years and could be a good long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne at Manchester City. He is still young, has potential to develop down the line and has been in impressive form. As with any player from abroad, it may take time for him to adapt to life in England if he joined.
Liverpool eye Micky van de Ven
Liverpool are ‘keen’ on an ambitious move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven, Football Insider claim. The Reds may have identified him as someone to boost their defensive ranks.
The 23-year-old rose up through the academy ranks at FC Volendam before spending two years in Germany with Wolfsburg. Spurs snapped him up in 2023 and he has since become a key player for the London club.
He has played 41 matches altogether and has found the net on three occasions. Van de Ven has had his injury issues so far in this campaign though so his focus will be on getting back fully fit right now.
The 3am Verdict: Landing Van de Ven would be a huge boost for Liverpool if they were able to strike an agreement for him in the future. It would be a surprise to see him leave Spurs though so a huge fee would be required. He has adapted well to life in the Premier League and would strengthen the defensive options that Arne Slot currently has at his disposal.
Arsenal target Mateo Retegui
According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal are targeting a move for Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui. Manchester United have also been mentioned as a potential suitor.
He has fired 23 goals in 34 matches so far this term and has been in prolific form. Despite being born in Argentina, he is an Italy international with 18 caps to his name. Retegui has played for the likes of Boca Juniors and Genoa in the past.
The 3am Verdict: It has been well documented that Arsenal need a striker and Retegui would fit the bill for them. He has proved he has an eye for goal in Italy and has caught the eye. The Gunners may need to see off competition from Manchester United though.
