Heaven, Maguire and Mainoo: Man United injury list ahead of Nottingham Forest and Man City

Manchester United won 3-0 against Leicester City on Sunday evening. Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes got their goals at the King Power Stadium as they picked up all three points.

The Red Devils are sat in 13th place in the Premier League table after their latest victory. They have nine fixtures left to play this season.

Ruben Amorim was picked as their replacement for Erik ten Hag earlier this winter. The former Sporting CP man will get the chance to put more of his own stamp on the squad this summer when the next transfer window opens for business.

When will Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw be back?

Ayden Heaven - out. Manchester United handed him his first start against Leicester. However, he was stretchered off during the game due to injury. Speaking afterwards, Amorim shared this update on his condition: "It's hard to know because we have to evaluate during the week. And also because he is a young kid that doesn't know how to explain and that makes it a little bit harder to understand what he is feeling." Expected return date: Unknown.

Leny Yoro - out. The defender is sidelined right now but is expected to be back in April. His boss said: “No, [Yoro] is not long-term. Leny cannot play this game and the other game [Leicester].” Expected return date: 01/04/25.

Harry Maguire - out. He has missed the Red Devils’ last couple of fixtures with a calf injury. The international break gives him the chance to get back up to speed. Expected return date: 01/04/25.

Luke Shaw - out. The left-back has had another injury-hit campaign which isn’t ideal. His head coach said earlier this month: “I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can return also [before the end of the season]. We'll see.” Expected return date: 10/05/2025.

Lisandro Martinez - out. He is in the treatment room with a long-term knee issue. Amorim has said: “Licha is a difficult situation. He's going to be out for a while. We don't know the extent of the injury, but it's an injury that is going to take time.” Expected return date: 01/01/2026.

When will Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo be back from injury?

Kobbie Mainoo - out. United’s midfielder continues to step up his recovery as he eyes a swift return. Amorim has said: “Kobbie will maybe return in a few weeks. I don't know for sure.” Expected return date: 13/04/2025.

Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton - out. The Red Devils’ back-up goalkeepers have been unavailable due to picking up knocks. In this latest update, Amorim said: “Altay is making a recovery, Tom is making a recovery. Again, I don’t have a day, but they are recovering.” Expected return dates: 01/04/25.

Mason Mount - back available. It has been a frustrating year for the former Chelsea man so far as he continues to recover from a thigh problem. He was on the bench against Leicester and his manager said last week: “I think he is going to [be on] the bench. We will see, but we need every player, and if he is fit, I am going to play him. He cannot play too many minutes; just five minutes is perfect.” Expected return dates: now.
