New Manchester United 2026/27 home kit 'leaked' online as fans praise 'nostalgic vibes'
Details of Manchester United’s new home kit for the 2026/27 home kit appear to have leaked online ahead of the official release.
Manchester United’s new home kit for the forthcoming 2026/27 season appears to have been leaked online well ahead of its official release – with renders of the new shirt now available on social media.

Based on information allegedly obtained from a significant leak out of kit manufacturers Adidas, details of United’s new jerseys have become available alongside those of four other Premier League teams, including Newcastle and Arsenal. Although not verified at this stage, the leaks seem to give us a clear idea of how Manchester United will look as they venture into the post-Amorim era next season, and the initial response from the fans has certainly been positive…
What Manchester United’s new home kit for the 2026/27 season looks like according to leaks
No photographs of the new kit are available as yet, Footy Headlines – one of the media sources which has reported on the leak – have created renders of the new shirt which can be seen in the social media post above, helpfully virtually modelled by Cristiano Ronaldo. He appears to be the ex that some United fans just can’t quite get over.
Anyway, the kit appears to hark back to the classic Admiral jerseys of the 1970s, with a chunky collar with red striped trim and matching trim on the sleeves, as well as the traditional Adidas three stripe design across the shoulders.
While the trim is slightly different from the kits of 50 years ago, which had thicker bands of three or four stripes across both collar and sleeves, the throwback seems clear enough.
Otherwise, the kit is clearly designed to be as clean and classical as possible, with no intrusive or jazzy design features and a plain red for the front and back, with the club crest, sponsor and manufacturer’s logo all in their typical places.
New 1970s-style Manchester United shirt gets positive reviews from fans online
The new shirt appears to be going down well with Manchester United supporters online, with several fans praising what one social media poster described as the “nostalgic vibes” of the design.
There were a few fans who were rather less impressed, in the way of these things, with one rather less cheerful commentor stating that he “wouldn’t wipe my [backside] with it,” although one wonders whether that’s a reflection on Adidas’ design or the current chaotic state of a club which has just sacked yet another manager.
In any case, the new jersey appears to be getting a warmer overall reception that last year’s shirt, which got rather mixed reviews, as did the change kits – although we were rather fond of United’s current away and third shirts when they first came out over the summer.
The release date for the brand new Manchester United shirt has not yet been confirmed but is likely to be several months away still – it’s not yet clear whether the club will switch to their 2026/27 shirt for the very end of the season for marketing purposes or simply launch it over the summer, perhaps alongside their next permanent manager…
