The latest Newcastle injury news - with updates on Lewis Hall, Lewis Miley, Jacob Ramsey, Yoane Wissa and more.

Newcastle United return to Premier League action this weekend when they make the long journey south to the Amex Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion – but they are set to take the trip without several key players.

Newcastle are waiting on news of the extent of Lewis Hall’s latest injury as full-back becomes a significant problem with Tino Livramento unavailable, while Eddie Howe is still waiting on the return of both Jacob Ramsey and Yoane Wissa – one of whom could be involved this weekend. There’s also a fresh worry over young midfielder Lewis Miley.

We’ve got all of the latest Newcastle injury news and updates below along with the stricken players’ expected return dates when available.

Will Jacob Ramsey be fit to face Brighton?

Summer signing Ramsey only managed two appearances before he was struck down by an ankle injury following a challenge on former Magpie Sean Longstaff in 0-0 draw with Leeds United. A third appearance could finally be on the horizon, however.

Ramsey was reportedly close to being involved in the win over Nottingham Forest prior to the international break and has been back in training since early October – with two more weeks of rest and rehabilitation under his belt, he’s expected to be fully fit for the match against Brighton.

Newcastle fans will have to wait a little longer to get a look at Yoane Wissa, however. The forward is still working his way back from a knee injury and while estimates of his likely return date vary, it is unlikely that he’s fit before early November. The away game at West Ham United on 2 November is the most optimistic target, based on Howe’s previous assertion that it would take eight weeks for Wissa to recover.

Newcastle sweating on Lewis Hall and Lewis Miley injuries

Newcastle’s two talented young Lewises have both picked up fresh injuries and we are still waiting for news of the full extent of the issues – but Hall at least will not be involved against Brighton.

The full-back, who has already missed several matches due to lingering injury issues, picked up a fresh hamstring injury during the Champions League win over Union Saint-Gilloise and we are waiting for Howe to publicly announce the results of a second scan which was expected to take place on Wednesday.

“It's not going to be a short-term injury,” Howe told the media after an initial assessment. “We hope it's not going to be a long-term injury, but we don't know yet.”

The defence is starting to look a little thin once again with Livramento out until late November with a knee injury, although Dan Burn has made it plain that he intends to play through a broken hand and was able to come on as a substitute for England against Latvia on Tuesday evening.

The concern over midfielder Miley arose after he withdrew from the England Under-21 squad, with the Shields Gazette reporting that he sustained a knock during Newcastle training. The injury is believed to be minor, however, and he should be ready to play this weekend.
