Brand new Newcastle United 2026/27 away kit 'leaked' online - and its 'unique' design may prove divisive
Newcastle United’s away kit for the 2026/27 season appears to have been leaked online ahead of the official release.
The brand new Newcastle United away kit for the forthcoming 2026/27 season appears to have been leaked online months ahead of its official release – and its unique design may well prove divisive with the club’s fans.

Details of the new shirt appear to have emerged as part of a much larger leak of information concerning upcoming Adidas kit releases for 2026, which includes the inadvertent release of details of Newcastle’s home kit for next season as well as kits from several other Premier League teams such as Manchester United and Arsenal.
What Newcastle’s new away kit for the 2026/27 season looks like – according to leaks
Footy Headlines have produced renders of a possible final design based on the information gleaned from the leak, which can be seen in the social media post above. The leak cannot yet be verified but has been corroborated by numerous sources – although the creators of the image above admit that it is “highly speculative.”
Whether it looks as envisioned above or rather different, the key design feature will be that the kit is dark blue but with a ‘brickwork’ design, apparently a tribute to St. James’ Park, the club’s famous old ground which features a fair amount of exposed brickwork but which may be reaching the end of its life, as Newcastle’s owners look at options for a new stadium around the city.
The kit is also expected to feature a white collar and trim along with the alternate Adidas trefoil logo, in common with all of their mainline away strips this season – the render above also suggests that the alternate club crest will be used, although that does not appear to have been confirmed.
Newcastle have used blue change kits since the beginning of the 1970s, but based on this possible preview of the coming design, this may be a rare use of a darker shade of blue and will certainly look different to anything else that the club have worn in the past.
Newcastle fans react to ‘unique’ new kit on social media
The new-look kit concept has drawn mixed responses online from the Newcastle fanbase, with some witheringly comparing it to a Scotland kit while others cautiously described it as “pretty unique.”
It’s somewhat clear that only a few Geordies have been entirely won over by a very different take on the Newcastle kit at first glance, but perhaps the final design will earn more fans once it’s eventually officially revealed.
The release date for Newcastle 2026/27 kits are currently unknown, and there are no indications as to whether the club will wear next season’s shirts at the very end of the current campaign or simply launch them over the summer.
Either way, plenty of fans will appreciate the fact that the club seems to be taking a year off from the ‘Saudi’ green and white kits which the club has worn in recent seasons and which have been the source of numerous criticisms from both inside and outside the club’s fanbase since their adoption.
