Newcastle United and West Ham 'want' £38.5m player as Man City aim to sell 24-year-old
Latest news and rumours from around the Premier League including updates from Newcastle United, West Ham, Chelsea and Manchester City
Premier League clubs have the opportunity to bring in some new faces in January. They also have the chance to let players leave if needed. Arsenal lead the way at the summit as they hunt for the title under the guidance of Mikel Arteta.

However, the Gunners face competition from Manchester City and Aston Villa chasing them down. At the other end of the table, teams like Wolves, Burnley, West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are all battling to stay in the division. Next month’s window is an important one across the division.
Newcastle United target Axel Disasi at Chelsea
According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle United ‘want’ to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea next month as they eye additions under Eddie Howe. They are being linked with a swoop for the centre-back. However, they face competition from the likes of West Ham, Galatasaray, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.
Disasi, 27, is under contract at Stamford Bridge until June 2027. However, he has fallen out of favour in London and his future is up in the air. The defender spent the second-half of last season out on loan at Aston Villa to get some game time under his belt.
The France international, who has five caps to his name, has been on the books at Chelsea since 2023 since they paid £38.5million for him. He has since made 61 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with five goals from the back. Disasi has also had spells in the past at Stade de Reims and AS Monaco.
The 3am Verdict: Newcastle United could see Axel Disasi as someone to boost their defensive department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the back. However, they may need to act fast with this potential deal amid competition from other teams, including West Ham. The Hammers may be able to offer him more game time which is what he needs right now.
Manchester City looking to sell Issa Kabore
Manchester City will look to sell Issa Kabore when he returns from his loan spell away at Wrexham, as per journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page. His deal at the Etihad Stadium expires in June 2027 and he is unlikely to break into their starting XI. Therefore, they are aiming to cut ties with him on a permanent basis next year.
Kabore joined City back in 2020 as a youngster from Mechelen. The 24-year-old has never made a first-team appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side though. Instead, he has been loaned out on a variety of different occasions to the likes of Troyes, Marseille, Luton Town and Benfica to get some experience under his belt.
The 3am Verdict: Selling Issa Kabore on a permanent basis would be a sensible decision by Manchester City. They don’t need him and he needs to lay down some roots somewhere else for the sake of his career. He has the chance to put himself in the shop window at Wrexham over the upcoming weeks and months.
