Spurs predicted line-up vs. Brighton: Two changes made amid big Dominic Solanke decision

The latest Tottenham team news and predicted line-up ahead of their Premier League fixture against Brighton.
Tottenham Hotspur will look to continue their promising start to life under Thomas Frank when they make the trip down to the south coast to play Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday – but will make the trip missing several key players.
Dominic Solanke is among the first-team players whose participation is in doubt as he works to recover from an ankle injury, while Frank has difficult decisions to make in several positions with deadline-day signing Randal Kolo Muani pushing for a first start while Destiny Udogie continues his comeback from injury to challenge for Djed Spence’s place at left-back.
We’ve got all the latest Spurs team news and injury updates ahead of the Brighton match below, along with our prediction for Frank’s starting XI.
Will Dominic Solanke be fit to face Brighton?
Solanke has now been out of action with an ankle issue since late August, but has been spotted back in individual training as he builds towards a return – the match at the Amex Stadium is likely to come too soon for the striker, however.
Ahead of the 1-0 win over Villarreal in the Champions League, Frank told the media that Solanke was “not too far away, but he's just falling away this week” while adding that it “won’t be long” before the former Bournemouth forward returned to the line-up.
With Solanke - who scored the opening goal the last time Spurs faced Brighton - expected to miss out once again, Frank will have to decide whether to continue with Richarlison at centre-forward or to promote summer signing Randal Kolo Muani to the starting line-up after he made his Spurs debut on Tuesday evening as a late substitute. Kolo Muani is still working back to full match fitness after a limited pre-season, suggesting that his Brazilian colleague may be more likely to get the nod.
Tottenham predicted XI vs Brighton and injury latest
Alongside Solanke, five more players are likely to be unavailable for the Brighton game, including long-term absentees James Maddison, Radu Dragusin and Dejan Kulusevski (all knee). Dragusin and Kulusevski aren’t expected back until October and November respectively, while Maddison will miss the vast majority of the 2025/26 campaign.
Two players who are closer to a return are midfielder Yves Bissouma, who is expected back by the end of September following nan undisclosed injury which scuppered a transfer to Galatasaray. Defender Kota Takai, meanwhile, could be involved as he works to come back from a plantar fascia injury sustained in pre-season. Frank has yet to confirm whether he will feature, but he is expected to be ready to make his debut over the course of the next few matches.
Italy international Udogie, meanwhile, is fully fit after a knee injury and pushing to start ahead of recent England debutant Djed Spence at left-back, while Frank will have to decide how to rotate his midfield three after João Palhinha was omitted from the starting line-up in midweek. Few changes are expected in other positions.
Full Spurs predicted line-ups vs. Brighton: Vicario; Udogie, Van de Ven, Romero, Porro; Bentancur, Palhinha, Sarr; Simons, Kudus, Richarlison.
