Tottenham could launch stunning raid for ‘concerned’ West Ham gem as Liverpool plan last-gasp defender bid

Our latest round-up of Premier League transfer rumours features news from Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham & Liverpool.

It’s time for Thursday’s round-up of the biggest and boldest new Premier League transfer rumours, and we have a couple of especially juicy tales from the global football media today – starting with a story concerning surprise interest in a seemingly untouchable West Ham player.

TBR Football allege that Tottenham Hotspur are “keen” on signing England international Jarrod Bowen, widely considered to be indispensable to the club – and that Newcastle could be “monitoring” his availability as well.

Apparently, Bowen has become “concerned” by West Ham’s form and performances under new manager Graham Potter, while both Spurs and Newcastle have been in “constant contact” should his desire to remain at the London Stadium waver.

The two teams have received “little encouragement” that a deal could be done, however, with West Ham currently showing no interest in selling a star player who remains under contract all the way up to 2030.

The 3AM Verdict: We’re sure a few teams are keeping half an eye on Bowen, but they’ll know that something huge would have to happen for the Hammers to consider a sale – or they’d have to spend an outrageous sum. No asking price is mentioned, nor is it likely that there is one. We’d be astonished if Bowen went anywhere.

Spurs also ‘weighing up’ Chelsea deal

Let’s stick with Spurs for our second story of today’s digest – according to GiveMeSport, Daniel Levy is “considering” a summer bid for Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, the Portuguese international who spent the second half of the season on loan at Juventus.

Curiously, Spurs see him as a replacement for Cristian Romero, who is increasingly likely to leave the club, and view Veiga as a centre-half (as he has been with Juve) rather than as a left-back (the position he played for Chelsea).

It’s been 16 years since a player moved directly from Chelsea to Spurs and the rivalry between the clubs means that Spurs only have “a slim chance” of getting a deal over the line, according to the report, but they are “weighing up” an offer all the same. No financial details are included in the report.

The 3AM Verdict: Much may depend on whether Juventus want to keep the 21-year-old permanently, as they would likely have more sway than Spurs do after a rough season, and that’s before you factor in the chance that Chelsea don’t want to sell a promising prospect to their rivals. We do think the Blues will look to sell, however.

Liverpool’s last-gasp Trent Alexander-Arnold bid

Finally, we’ll round things off with an article from TeamTalk, who bring together sources as disparate as the Liverpool Echo and notoriously unreliable Spanish website Fichajes to claim that Liverpool are making a “desperate” last effort to persuade right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay at Anfield.

The England man has been widely reported to be on the cusp of agreeing a free transfer to Real Madrid, with only a few last details to resolve, but apparently Liverpool are “working feverishly” to convince Alexander-Arnold to stay having succeeded in tying Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to new deals in recent weeks.

Apparently, the club are “refusing to accept” that one of their star players could leave on a free, but the report sounds pretty unenthusiastic about their chances, noting that the belief is that a move to Spain is “all but assured”.

The 3AM Verdict: You can’t blame them for trying, and maybe the backlash to Alexander-Arnold’s apparent decision to leave will cause him to have some second thoughts on the matter – but we agree that it’s highly probable that the 26-year-old is playing in Madrid next year. May as well give it a crack, mind you.
