Eight key players who could leave Tottenham this summer – and how much Spurs might get for them
Spurs could lose a string of first-team players this summer - we look at who’s headed for the exit door.
Even if Tottenham Hotspur do end up surviving relegation this season, a major summer rebuild awaits. There are too many star players in the side who won’t want to stay at an underachieving side, and plenty who Spurs will be happy to see the back of based on recent performances.

With a key transfer window in prospect, we’ve taken a look at eight first-team players who are rumoured to be on their way out of North London even if Spurs do stay up – and if they go down, then these names will only be the starting point…
Cristian Romero & Micky van de Ven among key players who could leave Spurs
The biggest problem Spurs will face as they work to rebuild this summer is that it looks highly unlikely that they keep hold of either of their first-choice centre-backs – with Cristian Romero looking especially likely to move on.
The experienced Argentine, who has publicly criticised Spurs’ transfer policy, is a target for Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona, with reports suggesting that he has a €60m (£52m) release clause in his contract which would allow him to move specifically to those three teams. While it’s not clear what his final destination will be as yet, it looks near certain that he’ll be plying his trade in La Liga in 2026/27.
Micky van de Ven will be a coveted asset as well. Liverpool have been strongly linked with the Dutchman as they look to find a long-term replacement for the declining Virgil van Dijk, and they are unlikely to be the only team in the market. Both Manchester United and Chelsea have also come up as possible options. According to The Metro, Spurs are expected to demand as much as £100m for Van de Ven’s services – so it’s possible that the steepling price tag keeps him at the club a little longer.
Another player who is the subject of considerable interest is versatile youngster Archie Gray. The 20-year-old is a target for United, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and is expected to fetch around £55m if Spurs get relegated. Should they survive, then the chances of establishing himself as a first-team regular next season means that he may well remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Another wonderkid who could easily leave is Croatian centre-half Luka Vušković – Barcelona are among a number of interest parties, with a likely transfer fee of around £35m.

More attack-minded players could also end up on the transfer market this summer, too, with leading goalscorer Richarlison looking especially likely to leave. He’s been linked with Flamengo in his home country and several Saudi Arabian sides, while a romantic reunion with Everton can’t be ruled out just yet. With just one year left on his contract, reports suggest that he’s likely to fetch little more than £20-25m.
Mathys Tel is another forward who has been trying to engineer an escape route for months, and made a rather public fuss about his desire to leave in January amid interest from Paris FC in his home country. It’s not yet clear which other teams could be keen to sign him, but Tel seems likely to push for a move regardless of Spurs’ final position in the table, and the club aren’t likely to make a major profit on the £30m they spent to acquire him in the first place.
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario could also be on the move. The Italian has been linked with several sides in his home country and Spurs seem increasingly likely to look for a new stopper after a rather unconvincing season. Most stories concerning Vicario’s future suggest that his current owners would do well to get £25m for him given his current market and the relative lack of funds in Serie A.
The other player who looks almost certain to leave is midfielder Yves Bissouma, whose season has been wrecked by injuries and off-field disciplinary issues. The Cameroonian’s contract runs down in June and while Spurs have the option to extend him for another year, it’s far more likely that they let him leave on a free transfer.
As it stands, there are few rumours from reliable sources suggesting that any of the other big names are likely to leave – but that will change quickly if they don’t beat the drop. It’s certainly hard to imagine Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke playing in the Championship…
