Premier League teams have the chance to bring in some new faces this summer. Newcastle United are being linked with a surprise swoop to re-sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. According to TEAMtalk, they could ‘move’ for the midfielder in the next transfer window.
Anderson, 23, has been a key player since his switch to the City Ground in 2024. He rose up through the academy ranks of the Toon Army and went on to make 55 first-team appearances. The England international was also loaned out to Bristol Rovers to get some experience under his belt.
The 3am Verdict: Elliot Anderson would be an ideal signing for Newcastle United this summer if they managed to lure him back to the North East. He has really developed his game at Nottingham Forest over the past couple of years and has become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Aston Villa eye Julian Brandt
As per Fichajes, Aston Villa are keen on Borussia Dortmund attacker Julian Brandt. The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season. Therefore, he is due to become a free agent in late June as things stand.
The Germany international, who has 48 caps to his name, is yet to pen an extension in the Bundesliga. He will be weighing up his options and considering his next move in the game right now. The Bremen-born man joined his current club back in 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen and has enjoyed plenty of game time.
The 3am Verdict: Julian Brandt has never played outside of Germany so should now test himself in a new country. He would be a shrewd addition for Aston Villa if they snapped him up. Getting him on a free transfer would be an absolute no brainer if they were able to make it happen.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United will battle it out for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton later this year, via Football Insider. The trio are all eyeing up a bid for the 21-year-old when this term ends. The Eagles will face a serious battle to keep hold of the player amid attention from elsewhere.
It seems likely that he will move on from Selhurst Park to pursue a fresh opportunity somewhere else. The Lancashire-born man linked up with the South London outfit back in January 2025 after catching the eye in the Championship with local team Blackburn Rovers. He has since become one of their most prized assets and helped them win the FA Cup last year against the odds after Oliver Glasner’s men beat Manchester City in the final at Wembley.
The 3am Verdict: Adam Wharton has a very bright future ahead of him in the game and Crystal Palace are likely to sell him this summer which would be a big blow for them. He would be a perfect acquisition for one of Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United. It remains to be seen at this stage who will win the race for his signature.
