Rating every Man United signing's 2025/26 debut season - including 9/10 genius and £18m bargain

Manchester United spent around £230m on new signings this season

Manchester United have just three games left to play this season, in what has been a characteristically turbulent campaign at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim’s disastrous reign came to a close in January, with the side’s dire run of form finally prompting the board to pull the plug just 14 months into his three-year contract.

Michael Carrick came in to steady the ship until the end of the season, but ended up sailing it all the way to Champions League qualification - something most Man United fans would have thought to be impossible at the turn of the year. The future is looking bright for the Red Devils once again, and thought already will be turning to what can be achieved next season.

As United look to finish their 2025/26 campaign in style - and perhaps even ensure that poor bloke finally gets his long-awaited haircut - we’ve given our ratings for every player the club signed over the course of the season. For clarity, we won’t be including Diego Leon or Enzo Kana-Biyik, as neither have featured for the club since signing last July.

Rating every player Man United signed in 2025/26 season

Benjamin Sesko: 7/10 - Ever since Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo starting posting those obscene goal-scoring numbers in La Liga back in the 2010s, the expectations of how often a striker should be hitting the back of the net have risen considerably.

Sesko hasn’t smashed his way to a 20-goal debut season, but he’s hit double figures and has netted six times in his last ten outings. It’s early days, but the 22-year-old looks to have been a fine investment, albeit an expensive one at around £73m. He’ll look to crack on next season with the hope of leading United’s forward line for years to come.

Matheus Cunha: 8/10 - Another real success story, £63m man Cunha has proven to be a superb acquisition. He enjoyed a purple patch over the winter, bagging a number of goals and assists, and has added the lethal edge to the Red Devils’ attack they were crying out for last season.

Like Sesko, he was far from a cheap bit of business, but the scale of improvement required in United’s squad necessitated the hefty spend, and he’s gone a long way back to repaying that investment with a stellar start to his Old Trafford career.

Bryan Mbeumo: 9/10 - One of the view United players who actually performed well under Amorim, the £65m signing from Brentford bagged eight goals in all competitions before the Portuguese coach was sent packing. While his goal contribution numbers have dwindled a touch, he’s still been one of United’s standout players.

In fact, he’s been United’s signing of the season, and you could arguably make the same claim for the division as a whole. Alongside Cunha, he’s turned the side into a more formidable attacking force than they’ve been in years. Signing Premier League proven, experienced players? It’s not rocket science - maybe Chelsea should take note this summer.

Senne Lammens: 7/10 - At £18m, United got themselves a bit of bargain with the signing of Lammens. After a howler-strewn era with Andre Onana in goal, United needed solidity, and that’s exactly what their new Belgian stopper has delivered. Bar that rather embarrassing blunder against Liverpool, of course.

The jury is still out on whether he will remain United’s number one for next season, with questions remaining over the quality of his distribution and authority in his area at set-pieces. At the very least, he’s served as a trustworthy and reliable option at a time when the club needed one, and for that he must be commended.
