Rangers sign £6.75m attacker and Premier League icon as AI predicts monster post-takeover transfer window

Rangers will be looking to compete with Celtic for top spot in the Scottish Premiership next season

Rangers are in the hunt for a new manager and have a big decision to make. They placed Barry Ferguson in caretaker charge after they opted to cut ties with Philippe Clement earlier this month. The Glasgow outfit are now searching for an external candidate to come in.

The Gers finished 2nd in the Scottish Premiership table behind rivals Celtic once again this past season. They will be hoping to mount more of a challenge for top spot in the next campaign. In the meantime, they have the chance to bring in some new players to bolster their ranks. We have asked AI to predict their activity...

Rangers predicted to land £6.75million starlet

Rangers landed Vaclav Cerny on loan from Wolfsburg for last term and he became a hit. AI has predicted that the winger will secure a permanent switch to Scotland. That would be a boost and he has proved his quality over the past 12 months. He was valued at £6.75million back in January, as per The National.

Cerny, 27, was given the green light to link up with the Gers to boost their attacking department. He adapted well to life in Glasgow and scored 18 goals in all competitions, 12 of which came in the league. The Czech Republic international has played for the likes of Ajax and FC Utrecht in the past.

AI has also backed Rangers to snap up Jamie Vardy on a free transfer over the next couple of months. That would be an eye-catching addition and he would inject some valuable experience into their squad. Whether or not it is realistic is yet to be known at this stage.

At the age of 38, Vardy’s best years are behind him now. Nevertheless, he has still been playing at the top level for the Foxes over recent times. He will be weighing up his options as a free agent right now.

Rangers tipped to sign defensive targets

AI believes Rangers will be in the market for defensive reinforcements. They have tipped Mason Holgate for a move. The defender, who is a Jamaica international with three caps to his name, is due to return to Everton for pre-season but his future is up in the air.

He joined the Toffees back in 2015 from Barnsley and has been with them for a decade now. The Yorkshireman has fallen out of favour with the Merseyside club though, hence why he was loaned out to West Brom in January. If the Gers snapped him up, he would add more competition and depth to their options at the back.

Kaiserslautern full-back Almamy Toure has also been predicted to join Rangers by AI. He has been linked over recent days and has emerged as a potential target. The right-back has been a key player for his current team in Bundesliga.2 since arriving back in 2023.

The former AS Monaco man was on the books at Eintracht Frankfurt before his transfer. The Gers have the opportunity to freshen up their starting XI and could have some money to spend following their recent takeover by the 49ers. They are likely to be credited with an interest in a whole host of different players in the near future.
