Fulham close in on blockbuster double deal including Real Madrid gem and ex-Newcastle United target
Fulham look set to pull off two late transfers on Deadline Day
Fulham’s summer transfer window looks set to end with a bang, as the Cottagers close in on two Transfer Deadline Day signings. The west London club have been busy during the off-season, bringing in a host of new talent as manager Alvaro Arbeloa looks to build his own side capable of pushing on in the Premier League this season.

He brought into both striker Gonzalo Garcia - who scored on his Premier League debut against Chelsea - and midfielder Cesar Palacios from his former club Real Madrid for a combined fee of around £43m, along with rising midfield star Shea Charles in a £30m deal from Southampton. On top of that, the club took up their option to buy Jonah Kusi-Asare from Bayern Munich, after he played on Craven Cottage on loan last season.
Fulham close to sealing two new signings

Fulham aren’t done yet, however, with The Athletic reporting that Sweden international midfielder Hugo Larsson is heading to the club to undergo a medical, after the Cottagers agreed a fee of £22m with his club, Eintracht Frankfurt. The deal will be viewed as somewhat of a coup, with Newcastle United believed to have been chasing the player earlier this summer alongside both Brentford and Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, there could be another fresh name coming through the door at Craven Cottage: Real Madrid’s Manuel Angel. That’s according to French outlet AS, via Goal, who say that Fulham are now advancing towards signing the 22-year-old, who is another player who Arbeloa knows well from his time managing in the Spanish capital.
The report says that Angel’s move to Almeria has collapsed, which looks to have given Fulham an opportunity to swoop in and snatch the Spain U20 international. Arbeloa was also said to be keen on a reunion with another Real Madrid player in Thiago Pitarch, but new Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho dug his heels in and wouldn’t sanction the promising teenage midfielder’s exit.
Fulham’s tough start to the 2026/27 Premier League season sees them lying 16th in the table after two matches, following narrow defeats to west London rivals Chelsea and Sunderland. Arbeloa will be hopeful that his new recruits can gel and kick on this season, as the club look to avoid slipping into a relegation battle.
