Footy Headlines has rendered digital images of the new away shirt based on images which appear to come from a promotional photoshoot, which can be seen in the social media post below. 3 Added Minutes has not been able to independently verify the images, but they corroborate pre-existing stories about the new kit which surfaced after details of a number of Adidas designs were leaked earlier this year.

What Newcastle’s 2026/27 away kit looks like – according to leaks

The images above seem to confirm that Newcastle’s new away kit with be a predominantly dark grey-blue design with white trim – including the traditional Adidas stripes over the top of the sleeves – alongside black and cyan strips around the collar and sleeve ends, which mirror the colours used on the new home shirt.

The usual Newcastle club crest has been replaced by a retro badge originally used between 1976 and 1983, which will be picked out in white alongside the Adidas alternate trefoil logo. The front of shirt sponsor the club will work with for the 2026/27 season has not yet been revealed.

The body of the shirt also features an inlaid abstract brickwork pattern, which is supposedly intended to echo the bricks on the walls of St. James’ Park.

The kit bears a striking resemblance to the Germany away kit used in the World Cup, which was also designed by Adidas, although the precise details of the trim are different – but the body shade and template appear to be the same.

Although the purportedly leaked images do not show the shorts or socks, it is believed that they will be a darker shade of blue, with cyan and white stripes on the socks but little extra detailing on the shorts.

Fans give new kit mixed reactions after leaks

Newcastle supporters have greeted the new shirt design with somewhat mixed reviews, with some fans frustrated by a “lazy” design – as it was described by one user on social media – while others called it “smart” and “sexy.”

The brickwork effect doesn’t seem to have impressed to many fans on first glance, but the new away jersey is certainly receiving a warmer welcome than next season’s new home kit, which has generated a widespread backlash.

The home kit features black and white stripes of varying sizes which has seen it compared to a barcode, while the bright blue trim has added to the shock factor an especially bold but not necessarily appealing shirt. As it stands, few Newcastle fans seem to be too pleased about the new look.

An official release date for the new away kit has not yet been set, but the apparently unpopular new home shirt is already available for sale. The change jersey may prove to be a better seller.
