Newcastle United predicted line-up vs. Hull: Two changes made amid big Ramsey, González and Elanga calls
The latest Newcastle team news and injury updates ahead of their Premier League match against Hull City.
Following Monday evening’s deeply disappointing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Leeds United, Newcastle will be hoping to set things right with a win over a high-flying Hull City side – but their task will be made more difficult by a series of injury issues.

Midfielders Nico González and Jacob Ramsey both sustained injuries at Elland Road, while in-form winger Anthony Elanga looks likely to miss an extend period due to a hamstring problem. All told, Matthias Jaissle could be compelled to make do without as many as seven first-team players on Saturday.
With kick-off fast approaching, we’ve collected all of the latest Newcastle team news and injury updates below, along with our prediction for Jaissle’s likely starting line-up at St. James’ Park.
Will Nico González start against Hull City?

Summer signing González has already been ruled out of Saturday’s game against Hull City after he suffered a concussion in a nasty clash of heads after just 20 minutes of the eventual defeat to Leeds – the FA’s concussion protocol rules mean that he will now be ineligible to play until at least 12 days have passed since the injury.
The former Manchester City man could also be joined on the sidelines by Ramsey after the midfielder sustained a thigh injury in the warm-up on Monday evening. The severity of the problem has not yet been disclosed, and it’s unclear whether he will be available for the weekend.
The pair’s absence will be felt all the more keenly given that Joelinton is still recovering from a quadriceps injury. The Brazilian is expected to return to full training during the international break, with an eye to a return against Coventry City on 12 October.
That could leave Newcastle short of experience in midfield, with Lewis Miley and Sean Steur in line to form an inexperienced central pairing should Ramsey be ruled out.
Elanga could be set for lengthy lay-off

There’s even worse news concerning the health of on-song winger Elanga, who has also been ruled out by the club ahead of the match against Hull.
The Swede underwent an MRI scan on a hamstring injury on Thursday, and although the results have not yet been announced there are fears that he could be out for six to eight weeks – although Jaissle told the media that he had “hope” that the issue was less serious than that.
Other players who will miss out on Saturday include Dan Burn and reserve goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen (both ankle) who are both targeting a post-international break return. There is some confusion, meanwhile, over the status of striker William Osula, who was feared to have broken his foot but seems to have avoided a significant injury.
The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope reported that there was some possibility that the Dane might play before the break, but that does not appear to be backed up by other sources as yet. In his likely absence, Matías Fernández-Pardo could lead the line again with Yoane Wissa operating in a deeper role.
Newcastle predicted line-up vs. Hull (4-2-3-1): Hornícek; Hall, Botman, Thiaw, Livramento; Miley, Steur; Barnes, Wissa, Murphy; Fernández-Pardo.
