Every player Spurs have been linked with since summer window shut - and the chances they join in January

A look at the players Spurs are reportedly interested in ahead of the January transfer window - and the odds that deals get done.

Given that Tottenham Hotspur haven’t exactly started the new season in the ideal manner, it’s reasonable to assume that they might be among the more active teams when the January transfer window opens for business – they certainly seem to have a need for some fresh blood.

Three months out from the new year, however, and most of the rumours surrounding Spurs’ likely transfer business are no more than paper talk and fodder for the gossip columns. Most of the names cropping up will prove to be unobtainable or simply to have never been of interest in the first place.

Below, we’ve picked out a few of the players who have been widely linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks, looked at the likelihood that a deal could take place, and rated the chances of a move out of 10.

Younes Ebnoutalib

The Eintracht Frankfurt striker has enjoyed a dizzyingly swift rise to the top of the game. At the end of the 2024/25 season, he was playing semi-professional football. Now, he’s a full Germany international after receiving his first cap under new national team coach Jürgen Klopp and is scoring at a rapid rate in the Bundesliga.

If Spurs judge that they need a new striker – and much will depend on the form of Omar Marmoush in that regard – then Ebnoutalib appears to be under consideration. The rumours linking them with the 23-year-old aren’t from especially strong sources, but there’s little doubt that the quality is there. The need may be, too, if Spurs continue to struggle in front of goal.

It’s not clear whether there’s any realistic chance that Frankfurt would be willing to sell mid-season and they have Ebnoutalib tied down to a long contract. That suggests that next summer is a more likely time for a move, but Spurs haven’t been shy about spending considerable sums in the hope of bouncing back from their long dry spell. January transfer likelihood rating: 3/10

Nicolas Raskin

Spurs have been credited with interest in Rangers midfielder Raskin for a while now, and the rumour mill can’t quite let go of the idea that they might make a bid for the 25-year-old Belgian.

TEAMtalk are among outlets to have passed comment on Raskin’s future in recent days and weeks, suggesting that Spurs are one of a few Premier League sides keeping tabs on his progress. Turkish outfit Besiktas also appear to be very interested, and are expected to make a move in the winter window.

That could force the issue and begin a bidding war, with Raskin believed to be valued by Rangers at around £20m. Spurs have already invested heavily in the midfield, however, and another player for the double pivot is unlikely to be a major priority, injuries and form permitting. Likelihood rating: 4/10

Kaoru Mitoma

Roberto De Zerbi has already signed Jan Paul van Hecke this season and may be keen to reunite with another of his former charges from Brighton – Mitoma’s name is popping up in the gossip columns and could represent a cheap way for Spurs to add some creativity out wide.

The Japan international, who has had a torrid time with injuries over the past couple of years, is inside the final year of his contract at the Amex Stadium and Brighton may be willing to let him go on the cheap, with no immediate indication that a new deal is in the offing.

Mitoma’s fitness may prove to be a stumbling block, but this is a rumoured deal which would at least give De Zerbi a player he knows well and whose quality – when healthy – is largely beyond doubt. We still haven’t seen any strong sources make the link, but it’s a story doing the rounds nonetheless. Likelihood rating: 5/10

Arthur Dias

Dias is a young centre-back currently making a bit of a splash in Brazil for Athletico Paranaense, and earned his first Brazil cap under Carlo Ancelotti over the international break – in other words, his stock is rising at speed, and Spurs seem to be very keen on signing him indeed.

While the 19-year-old probably wouldn’t be an immediate starter, he could be an interesting rotational option, and Spurs have reportedly already tried to buy him. Apparently a bid worth around £17.6m was rejected over the summer.

With Dias continuing his upward trajectory, don’t be surprised if Spurs make another move over the winter. The bad news is that they aren’t alone in their interest, and Barcelona have allegedly sent scouts to watch him on a few occasions. That wouldn’t be an easy transfer battle to win. Likelihood rating: 4/10
