What channel is England vs Spain on? TV coverage, kick-off time and streaming details for Nations League clash

How to watch England vs Spain in the UEFA Nations League as Thomas Tuchel’s side prepare to take on the world champions
This weekend, England play their first match since their 6-4 World Cup third-place play-off win over France, when they host world champions Spain at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening. Thomas Tuchel has a strong squad at his disposal, including Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, who was included as a reinforcement after several stars dropped out.
The Three Lions will look to use the Nations League as a means to build momentum towards Euro 2028, and will be hopeful of continuing the upward trajectory that saw the side battle their way to the semi-finals in the 2026 World Cup. With the pain from their loss to Argentina still fresh, England will be fully motivated to do what their adversaries couldn’t in the final and defeat Spain.
The last time England played Spain, Gareth Southgate’s were defeated 2-1 in the final of Euro 2024 in Berlin. Over the course of their last ten meetings, Spain have won on six occasions to England’s three, with one match ending in a draw. Ahead of their eagerly anticipated clash this weekend, this is how to watch the action unfold from the comfort of your own home.

England’s UEFA Nations League clash against Spain will be shown on ITV and ITVX for those streaming online, along with England’s other three matches during the international break. On Tuesday 29th September, England take on Czechia at the Fortuna Arena in Prague. This is also a 7:45pm kick-off. On Saturday 3rd October, Tuchel’s side will then make the 500-mile trip to face Croatia who they beat 4-2 in their thrilling World Cup opener back in the summer. This will kick off at 5pm in the UK, with the game being played in Rijeka.
England will round off their international break by returning to Wembley Stadium, where they will host Czechia on Tuesday October 6th. This will be another 7:45pm kick-off, as Tuchel’s side look to end the three-week period with a positive result. Following this, his players will depart to their respective domestic leagues before reuniting in mid-November.
What happens if England win their Nations League group?

The 2026/27 UEFA Nations League competition is broken down into three separate sections: the league phase, which runs between September and November; the knockout and play-off rounds, which happen in late March, and the finals themselves, which will happen between 9th and 13th June next summer.
If England finish first in their group, or indeed second, they will make it into the quarter-finals of the competition in March. A win there, and they’re straight into the ‘Final Four’ which takes place in June, along with the final of the competition. The location of this game is yet to be decided. Portugal won the 2025 Nations League final, beating Spain on penalties in Munich.
A third-place finish would see England enter a relegation play-off in March, where they, as an A tier side, would be pitted against a runner-up from the B tier. This would be a two-legged affair, with England maintaining their A status with a win, or slumping back down to B with defeat.
Finish fourth, and the Three Lions could be relegated down to the B tier immediately. However, if they were one of the two best performing fourth place sides, they would have a chance to fight for their spot in the form of a play-off, rather than automatically being dumped out of the league.
